Cool Schools Tree Planting Program

Tree planting is a great way to increase student interest in their local environment and achieve academic goals. Each school tree planting provides educators with the opportunity to inspire school administrators, faculty and students to affect positive change at their schools and, in turn, their communities.

To achieve this goal the Cool Schools tree program provides assistance to public, charter, and private schools located in the Denver metro area in getting free trees for their schools. Some highlights of this free program include:

  • Project Learning Tree (PLT) teacher workshops
  • Tree care workshops for facility managers
  • Students' classroom experience will be enhanced with PLT activities
  • Trees provided for planting on school grounds using "right tree, right place" criteria
  • Students will be provided the opportunity to adopt a tree to take home (School districts in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties)
