Dora Moore K-8 student wins Denver’s Arbor Day Poster Contest

Thursday, April 22

Each year, thousands of fifth grade students participate in the Arbor Day Foundation's Arbor Day National Poster Contest, sponsored by Toyota. This year, thirteen schools and 427 students participated in Denver's contest and 1,829 students from forty-four schools participated statewide. This is the ninth year Denver's poster contest has been done in conjunction with the national contest and it is the second consecutive year that Denver's winning poster was selected as the Colorado winner.

The Denver Forestry Division and other community partners will recognize Kimberly Gina Young, the 2010 winner of Denver's Arbor Poster Contest who went on to also win the Colorado 2010 Arbor Day National Poster Contest, with a celebration and tree planting at Dora Moore K-8 School on April 23rd. Framed copies of the winning poster will be presented to the winning student and to the school during the celebration.
