City Park Tree Tour

Wednesday, June 2
Mile High Million

June 2, 11 a.m.

Join Mayor John Hickenlooper, Councilwoman Carla Madison, Visit Denver President Richard Scharf, City Park Alliance and Denver Parks and Recreation to unveil City Park's new marker, indicating the one mile elevation along the Mile High Loop. There are four spots along the Mile High Loop that hit the 5,280 contour, but this is the first time a marker has been in place for the Mile High City in one its most scenic and photographed locations - on the west side of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Afterward, join Denver's own forestry superintendent Michael Swanson and renowned horticulturalist James Klett for an educational tour of the newly designed tree walk that follows the loop. Learn about the park's more than 3,000+ trees and future plans for an arboretum that is diverse, sustainable and honors City Park's historic landscape.

*This event has been approved for Denver County Colorado Master Gardener continuing education creidt.
